Dental implants have become one of the most desired methods of replacing missing teeth (and generally one of the most desired dental procedures).

Dental implants are by far the most natural way of replacing missing teeth. They feel and function the most naturally, and often have the highest esthetic potential.

Dental implants are small titanium screws inserted into the areas of your jaw bones that usually house your teeth. When they are left there over time, they essentially ‘fuse’ with the bone, as if they are part of it. A porcelain tooth (or multiple porcelain teeth, or a denture) are then secured to this titanium screw. The result is a replacement for missing teeth that is virtually indistinguishable from natural teeth that also feels much like natural teeth.

The dental implant procedure is a surgery, but is nonetheless pain-free and can be relatively short. Healing usually happens uneventfully and rather quickly. Implants do, however, require good oral hygiene—the same way natural teeth do.
